I had been toying with the idea of giving review copies of my items to a blogger to write about for quite a while, but could never pluck up the nerve. What if she hates everything I have? What items would I give for review? And what if what I choose isn’t her taste at all? It was a scary prospect. But after reading several reviewers’ notes about how they don’t like to ask for review copies, I started feeling that if I didn’t do it, the chances of getting blogged about were pretty slim, because other people aren’t as shy as I am about dropping their stuff. So I left a note with the blogger who most struck a chord with me, Shir Dryke of Ornamental Life, and told her that I’d happily give her review copies of anything and everything she liked in my store if she let me know what those might be. I feel stupid in retrospect, because I didn’t mean to put pressure back on her to pick and request, but happily she did, and she wrote a glowing review about my knitted hats! I mean, I know her reviews are nice, but I was so flattered I could feel myself blushing. I’m honored and happy, and now even have something on Fashion Planet despite the blog not being there yet, hehe.
